The EISE standard was specifically developed for the purpose of providing a consistent national standard for education and training providers in Canada. space The Canadian Association of Professional Educators is approved to provide ratings of 1 star; 2 star; and 3 star, based on an evaluation of the level to which they meet the expectations of students, staff, and the needs of all users across Canada from open source material. (members can provide additional information for rating changes) space Ratings are based on ability to meet training requirements; quality and appropriateness of facilities; level of knowledge and adequacy of provider services. The higher the star rating, the more appropriate and comprehensive the program and its outcomes.
CAPE is an approved auditor service for the rating agency for advanced providers wishing to become a 4 star or 5 star facility
The Educational Institute Standard of Excellence (EISE) space EISE was developed after extensive research into what is expected and what is considered important for any educational establishment outside the Government regulated and quantified control (example:- High schools). space The star rating program is a universal standard recognised by consumers in a wide range of products. The EISE program has been developed to recognise the differences in application from the diverse needs and expectations of differing providers, a driving school and a trade school have different standards of delivery and expectation, the EISE system provides a star rating which reflects the needs and expectations as compared within its own category. Each training facility category is comprised of providers of similar characteristics. space The EISE rating system for high acheivers space After application into the EISE program the education provider is categorized. space The applicant is screened to ensure compliance with any standards within its category. space The provider is first evaluated for physical quality of the facility, content and appropriateness of facilities, services and amenities available to the cohort, cleanliness, state of repair and safety. The major component of the evaluation obviously falls on the business taking place within the “classroom”. A complete outline of expectations is provided to the applicant prior to the evaluation. Student and societal needs are paramount in the evaluation. space space Star rating space The star rating is from 1 to 5 with half star increments, each half star rating increase requires the applicant achieve a higher score, for example a score of 50% allows the participant a possible 1 star rating, a 55% allows the participant a possible 1 and a half star rating etc, a score of 90% allows the participant the possibility of the coveted 5 star rating. Approved providers can establish ratings up to the 3 star level without application. Important:- Only members of an approved source can acheive ratings above the one star level space The rating has two distinct components:- space 1/ Each element of the evaluation carries measureable criteria. At the completion of the evaluation scores from all elements are tallied to create an overall score, this score will provide the primary basis for the rating. space 2/Each category and star level has distinct criteria which must be achieved. Having attained a score of 90% the applicant must meet specific criteria as established for each given category and star rating which will establish the final rating for the applicant. space The star rating is awarded based on the results of the evaluation. Each star level reflecting specific educational and training outcome expectations. A one star rating does not indicate any applicant is at the minimum standards as set out by its governing body. The star rating is designed to reflect a level of excellence not competence. In order to be accepted as an applicant the establishment must confirm it meets any regulatory minimums. If a location is able to reach a minimum one star level it reflects that the provider has exceeded all the accepted criteria in the areas of facilities, services, amenities and most importantly the quality of training. A bonus half star is available for exceptional performance in any criteria. space Benefits of the EISE program space Provides a quantifiable marketing tool. space Every educational provider includes statements of trainer proficiency, testimonials, or standards of excellence, on their advertising and web sites, but not all training establishments are equal and it is impossible for the organisation to separate itself, or for the incumbent user of their services to truly evaluate performance against peers. Only schools capable of achieving a minimum of one star or above would want to include itself in this program. Any person or group wishing to select a training establishment can be assured of a degree of excellence from any star rated provider. space space · As a recipient of 4 and 5 star awards your establishment receives a plaque detailing your rating and tenure in the program, this is normally displayed prominently in the foyer. Additionally rating achievements are included in advertisements, and specifically available openly (with approval) on the CAPE website and the ORATOME.space · Additional marketing strategies are in place to develop public awareness of the program. space Improve Standards space · Evaluation, rating and publication of the star rating provide an independent measurement encouraging exceptional performance. The guide and on site instruction from CAPE is designed to stimulate continuous improvement. space Information space · A national consistent rating system provides users reliable knowledge and expectations for their educational and training needs. space Policy feed back space · An ongoing metric of providers in conjunction with feed back from users provides valuable information for user groups and Government to assess need for change in real time. This process supports governance in policy development. .
